Porta designs and builds machining tools used in the production of components for the automotive, aeronautical, hydraulic and pneumatic sectors as well as others.
All of Porta’s machines are manufactured and assembled in-house – this distinguishes the company from many of its competitors who are only involved in assembly and enables it to guarantee higher quality and competitive prices.
Porta Solutions: beyond machining centers and flexible transfer machines!
What are Porta Multicenter solutions?
Our new line of multifunctional multicenter machining solutions represent a unique flexible production approach, surpassing the classic use of multiple machining center lines on one side and transfer machines with multispindle revolver tool turret heads on the other side. In summary, the multicenter consists of grouping of modular flexible machining center units around a principle rotating table that indexes the pallets station to station. The originality of the approach lies in the modular structure of the machine; the modular components are continuously manufactured and assembled in either standard or custom configurations. The result is a significant savings of cost and delivery time.
This logic and building block approach result in a personalized machining cell, which can be adapted to any type of application, with each machining module having a tool magazine of 12 or 20 pockets and individual module programming. With the multicenter it is therefore possible to efficiently integrate complete production of the part with up to 6 sides in one unique production cycle.
The advantages of our Multicenter flexible machining cell solution:
With respect to a group of machining centers the multicenter gives immediate cost savings from:
- Labor
- automation (one robot is enough, with the usual machining centers, more than one robot would be necessary)
- workholding costs (up to 50%)
- floor space - errors from reclamping the part
- chip to chip in 2.2 seconds
- pallet exchange in 2.2 seconds resulting in a drastic reduction of the machined component cost.
