Campana Livio and Finsomac Technology Now Available in North America
A glass-fiber laser cutting technology introduced by Italian supplier Campana Livio and Finsomac, is now available in North America through Cy Laser LLC (www.cy-laser.com), which opened its Chicago, IL, office last fall.
The Chicago facility will also be home to an assembly operation to start sometime this year. Massimo Denipoti, president and CEO of Cy Laser says the company will be selling its “High Brilliance” laser cutting systems direct to Canadian customers.
“Our objective is to quickly bring innovation to the sheet metal, plate and pipe processing industry, says Denipoti, “and enable fabricators serving all industries, to benefit from the advantages of this powerful new technology application”.
Cy Laser machines are the result of application developments dating back to 2004. Denipoti says that Campana Livio, S.r.l. is one of the first companies in the world that began to apply the glass-fibre laser sheet metal, plate and pipe cutting and has achieved competitive performance capabilities.
The company claims that the technology simplifies the generation and management of the laser beam. When used for sheet metal, plate or pipe cutting, power requirements of the laser are reduced substantially. Cy Laser systems can also cut brass and copper. The laser systems can cut 20 mm mild steel, 10 mm stainless steel, and 10 mm aluminum. The laser beam can be carried through a fiber optic cable, eliminating the need for mirror sets.
